Jeff Liberman, is a retired 31 year law enforcement leader who was responsible for leading Long Beach Police Department’s vibrant South Patrol Division. The division’s 120 sworn and professional staff and $22.6 million budget serve the residents, visitors, and workforce of the Downtown Entertainment District, Shoreline Village, Queen Mary, Long Beach Convention Center, Performing Arts Center and Arena, high density mixed use commercial and high rise residential properties, numerous major hotels, restaurants, and Aquarium of the Pacific.
Commander Liberman oversaw the Security Services Division which provides contract police services for the Long Beach Police Department. He managed law enforcement operations for the Long Beach Airport, Long Beach Transit, the Metro Blue Line, Long Beach City College, Marine Patrol, and Park Rangers. His diverse experience includes being a member of the City of Long Beach’s All Hazards Incident Management Team, leading a community college law enforcement section and port security unit, and supervising a multi-agency intelligence unit at the Los Angeles Joint Regional Intelligence Center (JRIC). As a Police Detective, he investigated crimes against persons and robbery.
Commander Liberman has studied counter terrorism in Israel with the Israeli National Police, represented the Los Angeles metropolitan law enforcement agencies in the Department of Homeland Security’s National Operation Center, and travelled extensively internationally and domestically to study best practices in policing.
He is a licensed California Private Investigator/Qualified Manager (#PI189267) and has provided training for law enforcement, government, and corporate officials in threat detection, analysis, and contingency planning. He is also a lifelong student and teacher of personal safety and self-defense.
