Service

Independent critical incident review.

A clear, independent read on what happened — and what to learn from it.

After a serious incident, the accounts multiply and the lessons blur. KomondorGroup provides independent after-the-fact analysis and expert case evaluation — reading the record, the reports, and the timeline — so leadership and counsel have a clear, impartial account of what was established and what it means.

What the work produces

  • An independent review that is not defending the prior response
  • A structured account of what happened, separated from what was assumed
  • Identification of gaps worth addressing and practices worth keeping
  • A documented basis for leadership decisions and further review

Typical engagement questions

What materials do you need?
The reports, records, and timeline that exist — internal findings, after-action reports, dispatch and incident records, and statements already on file. We work from the record that is properly authorized for the review.
Is this an internal-affairs investigation?
Not necessarily. A critical incident review evaluates the incident and the response; whether it becomes a personnel matter is a leadership decision that may call for a separate, separately-scoped investigation.
Do you opine on legal liability?
We evaluate facts and response against professional standards. Questions of legal liability belong to counsel.

How we work

A structured process, tailored to the matter. Scope before interviews; findings before conclusions.

01

Establish scope & authority

We define what incident is being reviewed, on whose authority, and what questions the review is meant to answer.

02

Review the record

We read the available reports, records, and timeline, and identify where the record is complete and where it is not.

03

Evaluate

We weigh the response and decisions against established practice — noting what was reasonable and where the record shows room to improve.

04

Report

We deliver a written account with findings and recommendations, and a clear statement of the review's limits.

Considering whether this is the right fit?

Share the scope — not the case file. We can talk through whether the engagement makes sense before anything is committed in writing.
